Passports
To enter Bahrain, a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.
Visas
A visa is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above wishing to enter Bahrain, except transit passengers continuing their journey by the first connecting flight - providing they hold confirmed tickets and appropriate travel documents, and remain within the transit area.
Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.

1. Of the nationals referred to in the chart above, those from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA can obtain a two-week visa at the airport in Bahrain without pre-arrangement.
It is recommended that you buy an eVisa online in advance (www.evisa.gov.bh).
Types of Visa and Cost
Single-entry visit visa at port of entry: BHD5; single-entry visit eVisa: BHD7; five-year multiple entry visa: BHD20 (available to nationals from Canada, the USA and the UK); Formula 1 visa: free to ticketholders.
Validity
Two weeks to three months for single-entry visas depending on nationality; five years for multiple-entry visas with a maximum stay of 28 days per visit. eVisas must be used within 30 days of approval.
Applications to:
Consulate (or consular section at embassy) or online at www.evisa.gov.bh (single-entry visas only). Some nationalities are not eligible to apply online and may require a sponsor for travel to Bahrain.
Working Days Required
Up to 72 hours online, but can vary depending on nationality. If applying to the embassy for a multiple-entry visa, allow two to four weeks.
